Big news! RY’s much-loved takeaway coffee cup collection is growing. Our keen-coffee-lovers will have noticed that two new cup designs are on the scene, and we thought it was time we told you the story behind our beautiful new designs.
Our Sister Estate | Bowhill House

Located in The Scottish Borders and home to the Duke of Buccleuch, our new takeaway cup designs originated on the walls of Bowhill House. The house is home to the world-renowned Buccleuch Art Collection, with works by Canaletto, Gainsborough, Reynolds and many more.
The Inspiration

The first cup design is inspired by The Morning Room at Bowhill House. The tranquil space, with its pastel tones, comfortable furniture, and hand-painted Chinese wallpaper, was a favourite spot for relaxing in the morning sun – much like The Coffee Bar experience.
The second cup design – which we have a feeling may be very popular amongst the dog-lovers – reflects the Buccleuch family’s love of artistry and their bond with their dogs, captured in works like Alexander Nasmyth’s portrait of a Newfoundland. These charming designs now decorate the coffee cups, bringing a bit of our sister estate’s charm to everyday moments at Restoration Yard.
The Coffee Bar | Open 9am – 5pm Daily

The Coffee Bar at Restoration Yard has a delicious selection of carefully-chosen teas and coffees, scones, cakes, gourmet sandwiches and seasonal soups to choose from. Enjoy a treat from our display of freshly-baked scones, cakes and traybakes. Visitors can also choose from our selection of Mimi’s Bakehouse cakes & bakes. And our coffee? Some say it’s the best in Edinburgh…come try it for yourself!
