BY CAR

Restoration Yard is located in Dalkeith Country Park. If you are driving to Restoration Yard, there are two car parks within the Park for you to use. There is a daily £3 parking fee. All funds raised from the car parking charge will be invested directly into improving parking facilities and creating an enhanced visitor experience for all. Find out more about parking at Dalkeith Country Park.

You can easily get to the Park from the Edinburgh city bypass. Take the exit for Dalkeith from the Sheriffhall Roundabout on to Old Dalkeith Road. Turn left shortly after this into King’s Gate. You’ll drive through a long stretch of woodland (watch out for deer and other wildlife that call the park their home) before coming to some signs to Restoration Yard. The postcode is EH22 1ST.

Please note if you're in a larger vehicle, this entrance has a height restriction of 2.7 metres. Please do not attempt to drive through this entrance if you are unsure your vehicle will fit - it's a historic listed entrance. Large vehicles and deliveries can use our Town Gate entrance off Dalkeith's High Street, postcode EH22 2NA. Thanks.

ON FOOT
The best entrance if you’re walking is Town Gate (postcode EH22 2NA). Restoration Yard is a five minute walk from Dalkeith High Street through the stunning Dalkeith Country Park and past Dalkeith Palace.

BY BIKE
We recommend using the Town Gate entrance (postcode EH22 2NA) or Smeaton Gate for bikes (closest to the National Cycle Route). To find the best directions to the park from your location, use CycleStreets, Sustrans or Spokes. Bike racks are available by the entrance to Restoration Yard.

BY BUS
If you’re coming from Edinburgh city centre, take Lothian Buses 3, X33, 49 from Edinburgh to Dalkeith. Jump off on Dalkeith High Street (outside Morrisons for the No.3, Glebe St or Old Edinburgh Road for the No. X33 , Bridgend Court or Jarnac Court for the No.49). The walk is then 5-10 minutes up the High Street to the park. Services are fast and frequent. Visit Lothian Buses for timetable information. From Portobello or Musselburgh, catch the number 140 East Coast bus. From Bonnyrigg take the 49 bus. Both take you to the Corn Exchange Bus Stop on Dalkeith High Street and you can walk from here.

BY TRAIN
You can also use the new Borders’ Railway to get to Restoration Yard. There are regular trains from the Borders and Edinburgh City Centre to Eskbank Station. You can then walk from here (25 minutes) or get on the number 40 Lothian Bus from outside the Tesco opposite the station to Dalkeith High Street. From Dalkeith High Street we’re 5-10 minute walk to Restoration Yard and Fort Douglas.
