Outdoors Buggy Fitness
Thursdays, 10am - 11am
*Unfortunately whilst in Protection Level 4 we cannot run our group outdoor fitness classes. We'll resume when restrictions are lifted.*
No childcare? No problem! Our parent and child Buggy Fitness classes are a great way to spend time with your little ones while getting fit out in the beautiful surroundings of Dalkeith Country Park's Palace Lawn.
Classes are tailored to support postnatal recovery and contain exercises specially selected to burn fat, build cardiovascular fitness, while strengthening and toning muscle groups, all of which enable us to cope with the demands of parenthood.
Whatever the weather, we will be training and enjoying the physical and mental benefits of being outdoors. This is a great way to reduce social isolation and help manage anxiety or postnatal depression, which can affect men as well as women. Best of all, no childcare is necessary as your baby joins you in their buggy!
This is an open to all class which includes power walking, cardio games, toning and strengthening segments.
Socially distant and bodyweight exercises only, no equipment, to reduce the risk of spreading COVID 19. No need to wear a mask.
About the teacher
Our Buggy Fitness class is run by Suzanne Maynard, a qualified and knowledgeable pre and postal coach, personal trainer and mum. Her classes are a place to meet others at a similar stage in life, while staying active or safely returning to exercise.
All postnatal women attending class for the first time will be offered a check of their abdominal muscles for separation, known as Diastasis Recti, which occurs in all pregnancies as the growing baby pushes outwards.
Please let Suzanne know beforehand if you have any injuries.
