What are your opening times?
Please see our latest opening times here. Restoration Yard is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Where are you located?
We are located in the stunning Dalkeith Country Park which also has Fort Douglas adventure park, walking and cycling routes. The postcode for cars is EH22 1ST (Via The King’s Gate) or pedestrians and cyclists is EH22 2NA (Town Gate entrance). For more directions please see here.
Are you accessible?
Restoration Yard has some accessible parking spaces in the Laundry House Car Park. There is a flat surface/very short walk from here to Restoration Yard’s courtyard. Wheelchairs can move around inside and there are no steps into The Store, or our restaurant, The Kitchen. There is a lift to The Studio and Loft however The Loft is not accessible when a Wellbeing class is in progress. Please note some parts of The Store may be tight for larger wheelchairs. Unfortunately we do not have hearing loops installed.
Do I need to book in your restaurant?
We recommend booking a table in The Kitchen at Restoration Yard if you’d like a specific time. We always reserve some tables if you simply wish to turn up, however, there may be a short wait at busy times.
Do you sell gift cards/vouchers?
Yes, you can purchase a beautiful gift card to use in The Store or our restaurant, The Kitchen. You can buy these in store or online. There is a postage fee if we're posting these to you. Gift cards are valid for one year from purchase. Please treat them as you would cash. They cannot be refunded or replaced if lost.
Do you accept groups?
Yes. We accept private events, corporate events, weddings, FIT and larger group bookings.
Do you cater for dietary requirements in The Kitchen restaurant?
We also have vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options on the menu in The Kitchen. If you are ever unsure, please tell your waiter and we’ll prepare you something to your needs.
Do you hold weddings at Restoration Yard?
Yes, we host weddings throughout the year at Restoration Yard, the perfect countryside wedding venue near Edinburgh. Find out more here.
Do you offer private dining?
Yes. We have options to use the private Boudoir during the day or you can also book The Kitchen exclusively in the evening. Find out more here.

Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are allowed in the courtyard area, on walking routes (please see guidance here), in The Larder which is open seasonally and when dining outdoors on The Kitchen terrace. Sorry, we don’t allow dogs in The Store, The Kitchen when dining indoors or the Wellbeing classes unless they are Assistance Dogs
What do you sell in Store?
Restoration Yard is a shoppers’ haven. Less a shop and more a chic emporium you’ll find a Foodhall selling local artisan produce, fashion, homewares, kids, books, stationery, beauty, accessories and more. We also have Restoration Yard own-brand items for something that extra bit special. Many pieces are designed in-house and are inspired by artwork from the Buccleuch Collection housed at our sister estates, Drumlanrig Castle, Bowhill House and Boughton House. Do your gates shut?
Yes, the gates to Dalkeith Country Park close between 7pm and 7am. To access you can buy a Friend’s of Dalkeith Country Park card.
Who owns Restoration Yard and Dalkeith Country Park?
The park is privately owned and has been in the Buccleuch family for over 300 years. Today we’re still owned by the same family and their business, MDS Estates Ltd. You can read more about their history over on the Dalkeith Country Park website.
Can I buy your products online?
Yes! We have a new online store here. You can pay for delivery or select Click and Collect for free.
What is your returns policy in store?
- If an item is returned in its original condition with packaging and the original till receipt within 30 days we will offer to exchange for other goods, or a gift card or a return.
- For any sale item returns, the policy is the same, but within 14 days from purchase.
- Earrings and beauty items are non-returnable.
- This will not affect customer’s statutory rights.
What is your online returns policy?
RETURNS POLICY FOR ONLINE STORE
If you are not satisfied with your purchase and wish to return your order, please let us know by emailing online@restorationyard.com. Items must be returned within 30 days in the same condition as purchased. If there is a genuine fault with your purchase, Restoration Yard will refund the cost of the return. Please make us aware of this as soon as possible by emailing online@restorationyard.com to ensure this refund. Please note that earrings and grooming products cannot be returned due to hygiene reasons. Please note that Gift Vouchers are non-refundable and must be used within 12 months of purchase.
REFUND PROCESS
Your refund will be credited back to the original method of payment. A credit will post to your account approximately two days after the date of processing. It may take up to two billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly credit card statement. The value of returns or refunds is the value of the item at the time of purchase.
PLEASE NOTE: Returns and exchanges must take place within 30 days of purchase.

- Returns must be made within 30 days.
- Restoration Yard is not responsible for customer returns that are not received.
- You must pay all shipping costs for the return unless confirmed otherwise.
