Everything you need to know before your first class in The Studio
Have you just booked your first block of classes in The Studio at Restoration Yard? Not sure where to go and what to bring? Not to worry! We know it can be daunting starting out with a new routine in a new place, but we've got you covered. Here's our guide on everything you need to know before coming to enjoy your classes in The Studio.
Where to go?
The Studio sits in the eaves of our gorgeous stableyard, with views out to the beautiful nature surrounding us in Dalkeith Country Park. This the perfect backdrop to our varied programme of Wellbeing classes, which all have a focus on health through wellness of spirit, mind and body.
From Steel Car Park
Enter the courtyard via the white gates at the bottom of the hill. Once in the courtyard make a sharp left where you will see signage pointing you to enter the building and head up the stairs to The Studio.
From Laundry House Car Park
If you have entered the courtyard via Laundry House Car Park, walk through the courtyard to the opposite side, enter through the door and head up the stairs to The Studio. Please see the video above for reference or watch the journey into The Studio here.
What to bring?
We recommend bringing a bottle of water with you to your class, after all, wellbeing starts from within so hydration is key! Within The Studio we do have a shower available, so if you are doing a class on-the-go then the shower facilities may be of use to you.
Do you need any equipment?
In The Studio we have a selection of sanitised equipment ready for you to use, from yoga mats to blocks. However, if you would prefer to use your own equipment, you are more than welcome to bring this along.
Is there anywhere to grab a snack before or after class?
Yes! After your class you can head downstairs to The Coffee Bar - located in The Store - and choose from fresh soup, baking, hot drinks galore and plenty of other takeaway treats.
Our Wellbeing Programme
The Studio hosts classes and workshops led by our highly skilled teachers who are always happy to advise and assist if you wish. Life can be complicated, so take some time out and allow us to offer you a haven to restore, rebalance and renew. Our 2023 Wellbeing classes are now open for booking and include Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Mindfulness & Fitness.
